Only Wal-Mart sells more music than iTunes

Apple’s music store moves past Best Buy to capture the second spot behind Wal-Mart stores. This is less then a year since the company overtook Amazon as the nation’s third-largest retailer.

    The question is when downloads surpass the CD?

    Great question Bob.

    Digital Medai seems to think 2012. While Digital downloads are growing fast, 23% a year according to the article, CD sales are falling faster.

    The music industry will have to find new sources of revenue to maintain, or cut costs. It’s an open question on will the major labels be able to survive, and what will the new model be.
