Myspace is upgrading and readjusting their music angle.
A good amount has changed in the music industry since Myspace was sold to Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation in 2005, and just from feel one can sense the drop in relevance of Myspace, whose website presence has become a top priority for bands in recent years.
Still, it seems as if their relevance has dropped significantly of late. Does anyone expect them to be able to get back to the forefront in the music industry, compete and increase their relevance with these changes?

I guess it is not so suprising that news about Myspace executive changes have started coming out just after this post about their new focus.
It will be interesting to see how things change there.

The most interesting thing about this post, which is a continuation of the Myspace discussion, is that very rarely, if ever, do once popular Internet sites come back once they’ve fallen from the the top.

This link includes a July 2009 letter from Myspace’s CEO trying to define Myspace. Likely to become an entertainment portal, so music promotion, sales etc. will certainly play an important role.
