How Badly Do You Want It?

July 26th, 2010 · by matt

Everyone once in a while a posting resonates simply because it touches upon a basic truth.  This recent article from Rick Goetz at MTT drives home the point of constiency and continuing forward with the goal in mind, relentlessly.

VolumeEleven.net and other websites like it have been created to help musicians get the most out of their time and energy spent on the business side of music.  DIY has created this need.

Nevertheless, there is still no substitute for a focused goal, and the hard work and determination to wake up every day and help yourself get there.

Most successes in life are achieved because of little incremental advances taken on a daily basis.

And then the other major reason for success is whether we are willing to wake up every day to make those incremental steps.  From one of the comments to Rick’s article:  And the test of if we REALLY want it is observing if we do the HARD WORK (and make other sacrifices -financial/social/etc) – consistently over many years.

If I were to add a third item to this, it would to attack the first two items with continued and full passion.

So, how badly do you want it?

And do the people you have surrounded yourself with in the music world want it as badly as you do?
