Pandora is a unique internet radio experience – Pandora uses a system called the Music Genome project to analyze every song played on Pandora and uses the information gathered to create personalized radio stations for each user.

Pandora is proud of the fact that it chooses music for inclusion based solely on quality, and about half the music played on the station is from independent artists.

  One thing that I would love to see would be a way for music fans to select the percentage of new/indie music they want to hear from this platform. So, for example, if you want to hear bands like My Morning Jacket, you could say you want 50% of what you listen to to be unsigned bands, or 10% or 100% and then you would get those bands mixed in with the signed bands based on your preferred ratio.

  This could be a fun function and a good way for Pandora to help people who want to to become exposed to new music.
